There are a variety of routes through which research questions become projects, but our adoption processes have the same three key aims:   

  • Conduct patient-focused research reflecting the needs of the public and the NHS
  • Support evidence-based service change for the benefit of patients and the public
  • Build capacity within the local health economy to generate and effectively use the results of research

ADAPT: Accelerated Design and Programme Testing

Theme: CLAHRC - Evidence for Policy and Practice
Status: Live

The research involves adapting aspects of Family Nurse Partnership, an evidence-based programme for young mothers and their babies, and then testing those adaptations with a focus on acceptability, implementation and outcomes. The adaptations include introducing personalisation and adjusting clinical content relating to attachment, smoking cessation, breastfeeding, neglect, mental health and intimate partner violence. Adapting the Chance UK mentoring programme

The Chance UK mentoring programme is for children in London aged 5-11 years who are reported to be displaying challenging behaviour and emotional problems at school and at home. This project will aim to look at ways to redesign and adapt the current mentoring programme, as it has been found to be achieving the desired outcome. Read more
