PenCLAHRC joins EU network for cost containment and improved quality of healthcare

The escalating cost of healthcare is a problem common to all EU countries and national governments are looking at different ways to tackle this. There is often anxiety that managing costs will mean healthcare becomes more dangerous or risky - however this does not have to be the case.

A network of healthcare stakeholders from 24 EU countries has been set up to develop ways of containing costs whilst maintaining, or even improving, the quality of healthcare. PenCHORD building international research collaborations

PenCHORD giving presentation

PenCLAHRC’s operational research group, PenCHORD, has been awarded funding to help them build links with international research partners.

The funding will enable the team to invite overseas researchers to visit and explore the possibilities for future projects and publications. It will also be used to engage with research abroad in similar research areas. The funding is provided by the University of Exeter Medical School’s Internationalisation Fund and is available until July 2016 and will be used to support collaborative meetings.
