A team of systematic review specialists from the University of Exeter Medical School's ESMI group, supported by PenCLAHRC, have been commissioned by the National Institute of Health Research Health Services & Delivery Research programme (NIHR HS&DR) to conduct evidence syntheses on the organisation and delivery of healthcare.
The work will involve appraising and synthesising research and other evidence relating to the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and patient experience of healthcare, and the implementation of models and initiatives for improving the delivery of healthcare and NHS organisation.

A collaborative study between the University of Exeter and Devon and Cornwall Police has fostered a long-term partnership to bring evidence and research into policing.
The Exeter Policing, Evidence and Research Translation study (ExPERT) was set up to take the lessons learned from evidence-based practice in medicine and apply them to policing.

All the fun of the (evidence-based) fair came to PenCLAHRC’s Veysey Building recently for an Engaging Games morning. This included an evidence-based fairy tale writing competition and a collection of research-based games such as ‘Be There Dragons’, an activity intended to demonstrate that more diagnostic testing does not automatically lead to more certainty.
These games have been designed by Dr Kath Maguire from PenCLAHRC's Patient and Public Involvement Team to help translate the concepts of evidence-based medicine into fun and practical learning resources for members of the public and clinicians alike.
